Kororoit Creek Trail doesn't yet run uninterrupted from Caroline Springs to Altona Coastal Park, but it has been improved in the last couple of years. This ride follows most of what is currently navigable, making for a 50 km figure eight through the grasses and wetlands of the west.

Our journey will present a mix of mostly natural reserve and some industrial landscape. If you're interested in historic bridges we'll be passing a bluestone example at Geelong Road. We'll start at Newport Railway Station and make our way through Altona North to Barnes Road Bridge where our trail begins. We follow the lower part of Kororoit and then take a north route up Jones Creek to Deer Park.

The way back picks up the upper section of Kororoit Creek Trail and then we make our way south back to Newport via Western Ring Road Trail.
