Starting at Box Hill Station we will ride the back streets which hug the railway line which makes for the titled crazy zig-zag, just to see what its like.

Once we hit Hawthorn Station (approx 10km) we'll join Main Yarra Trail and shoot back to the city in a more orderly fashion (approx 8km) and optionally find somewhere for lunch.
