Come and join Bent Kranks on Sunday, 29th of January at Fitzroy Street St Kilda for this year's Pride March.
It's a lot of fun to take part. Thousands of onlookers will cheer and applaud as you cycle, saunter, stride, or vogue down Fitzroy Street. All support is welcome and encouraged.
To have a real visual presence we are hoping to have as many riders as possible participate, and for that matter, walkers and users of any other unlicensed mode of transport. Wear bright coloured cycling gear or street gear, or dress up your bike if you like! If you can manage it, you may even dress up as your bike.
Pride March will be followed by post-march festivities at the march's end in Catani Gardens.
Assembly for the march is at 12 Noon in the parkland at the north-west corner of Fitzroy Street and Lakeside Drive. We'll have a numbered place in the march order that you will find here on the Midsumma website when it's posted in the next few days. This article will be updated too. There'll be Pride marshals to direct you if signage in the park proves to be obscure (which has been the case some years). If you don't see a marshal, just look out for a group of cyclists with the green Bent Kranks banner bearing the crank logo (as shown, top left on the website banner). The march itself will commence at 2 PM sharp.

Bent Kranks is running a ride as part of Midsumma's 2017 GLBTIQ Sports Festival on Saturday 4 February.
The event is run by Team Melbourne with the support of Maribyrnong City Council as a celebration of GLBTIQ sport and recreation in Melbourne. It's all about inclusion and building stronger connections across Victoria’s GLBTIQ sporting and recreation groups.
A wide range of clubs and societies offer a whole variety of physical activity, sports, yoga, dog walking and much more. The schedule of activities starting from 9 am is listed on the Team Melbourne website. To see what's on offer just follow the link above. Our ride is at 11:30 am and we'll easily make it back for the BBQ lunch at 1 pm.
This year the Festival will include a queer family space presented by Proud2Play, adventure activities and performers to entertain throughout the day.
Turn up at Footscray Park and join in. Events will be held in the park and using adjacent facilities of the Victoria University campus. Our ride will begin at the park and travel north up Maribyrnong River Trail to the lookout over Steele Creek and back.
