A lovely weekend ride exploring Bellarine Peninsula, through the middle and around the coast. We'll set off from South Geelong Railway Station, pick up Bellarine Rail Trail from the western end and ride it through farmland and bush to arrive in Queenscliff. We'll stay overnight just down the road in Point Lonsdale. The next day we'll bike around the coastal trail to take in more countryside and bayside vistas and finish the ride in Portarlington. From there we catch a ferry which will take us to Docklands, Melbourne. It's essential to book your place on the ferry as soon as possible once you've decided to join us as there are only 20 spaces for bicycles. The fare is $16 per person (bikes travel for free). You can book here through Port Phillip Ferries.

Accommodation has been arranged, a house in Point Lonsdale. It has two rooms with double beds, one of which also has bunk beds, another kids room with four single bunks, and there's a spare bed in the lounge room. If you're prepared to bring a tent there's also the possibility of camping in the back yard. The whole cost is $140 for the night which will be split between guests. Of course, you have the option to find other lodgings in either Point Lonsdale or Queenscliff.

The Bellarine  Rail Trail is a mostly flat 38 km. The following day's coastal ride will come to approximately 40 km and with involve a mix of road and bike path. There's also a mix of surface, sealed and unsealed.
