This is the Grand Final Weekend and with three days it might be possible to ride Bass Coast Rail Trail. There are some logistics to sort out for this ride so for now it remains a work in progress. The idea is with public transport available to Stony Point, catch the ferry from there and begin the ride from Cowes on Phillip Island to Anderson via Phillip Island Road bridge and then pick up the rail trail from there. Then there'll be an overnight stay in Wonthaggi and a return the same route next day. The weekend might work best with an overnight stay in Cowes on the Friday to take full advantage of the weekend. Cowes to Wonthaggi is about 42 km, allowing for a leisurely ride to take in the scenery.
